With a view to raise awareness on the vital role played by tyres in road safety, a Tyre Care & Safety Drive was held at the newly built Samruddhi Mahamarg, Maharashtra from 11-13 January 2024.
The campaign was organized by Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA), national industry body of tyre manufacturers in the country and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).
Certified engineers of leading tyre companies under the aegis of Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee (ITTAC), the technical arm of ATMA undertook a free tyre health check at Indian Oil Petrol Pump on the Nagpur entry point of the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
Motorists and commercial drivers were briefed on tyre maintenance besides distribution of specially designed safety booklets and merchandise promoting the need for tyre safety.
Tyre safety campaign was closely aligned with National Road Safety week organized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India from Jan 11o 17.
Tyre Care & Safety Campaign was inaugurated by Mr. Surendra Gedam, Operations and Incident Management, Samruddhi Mahamarg and Mr. Naveen Parghania, IOCL alongwith other officials from MSRDC and IOCL at the base camp put up at Indian Oil Petrol Pump on the Nagpur entry point of the Samruddhi Mahamarg.
Event Promotion
Event banners were put out all around the venue and at the toll plaza. A flyer was also handed over to the motorists entering the venue.
Tyre Inspection
Over a 3-day period, service engineers inspected the tyres. Motorists and commercial drivers were briefed on tyre maintenance besides distribution of specially designed safety booklets and merchandise promoting the need for tyre safety.
