ATMA Convention turns spotlight on Tyre Industry -Auto OEMs partnership
The first ATMA Annual Convention, poised to become the flagship event of tyre industry in India, will be held on 7th February 2018 at New Delhi. The theme of first Annual Convention is “Tyre Industry – Taking India to the World”.
“Having played its well deserved role as a lead sector of manufacturing, Tyre Industry in India is at the cusp of a significant growth. At a time when private investment cycle in India is yet to be revived, Indian tyre industry has invested over Rs. 45000 crore ($7 billion) in recent years. The ATMA Convention represents the conviction and self-belief of the Indian tyre industry to be a world class manufacturing setup in its own right”, said Mr Satish Sharma, Chairman Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA).
The Convention will bring together automotive and tyre industry leaders, policy makers, government officials, thought leaders, consultants and top management of tyre industry raw material partners. The deliberations will help chalk out the agenda for the future while discussing current realities and future expectations of the tyre industry.
Release of Research Report
An important highlight of the Convention is the Release of a Research Report by Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Commerce & Industry Minister on tyre industry’s competitiveness, export achievements and the policy enablers which could accelerate industry’s growth.
Launch of ATMA Fleet Management Awards
Fleet Management Companies have been playing a key role in improving competitiveness of transportation sector. Logistics is an important part of Ease of Doing Business. On the occasion of first Convention, ATMA has launched Fleet Management Awards which will recognize the excellence in the sector. Five Fleet Management awards will be conferred in the fields of Drivers’ Training & HR Practices; Safety Initiatives; Adoption of Technology/ Telematics; Adoption of Efficiency Measures and Corporate Social Responsibility. Mr Amitabh Kant, CEO NITI Aayog will present the awards to the winners in a glittering ceremony.
A Special Award has also been instituted to recognize and reward a person or institution that has rendered exemplary services to help tyre industry meet its objectives of a safe and improved road transport.
