The 8th edition of the ATMA Partners’ Summit (APS’25) successfully convened top industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from the Tyre Industry and raw material sectors to deliberate on sustainability, innovation, and supply chain resilience. Organized by Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA), the summit served as an exclusive platform for collaboration, ideation, and action-oriented discussions on the future of the Tyre Industry value chain.
Besides addresses by Industry Leaders & Policymakers, the Summit witnessed panel discussions on Sustainability, Circular Economy & Supply Chains and Industry Experience Sharing presentations.
The Summit commenced with a keynote address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President, SIAM & Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles & Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of collaboration between OEMs and tyre manufacturers to drive sustainability and technological advancements.
“The automotive industry is undergoing a transformational shift, driven by sustainability, innovation, and evolving consumer preferences. Strengthening synergies between OEMs and tyre manufacturers will be instrumental in ensuring a resilient and sustainable mobility ecosystem,” said Mr. Shailesh Chandra.
Mr. Anshuman Singhania, Immediate Past Chairman, ATMA & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., provided an industry perspective on the challenges and opportunities in sustainable tyre manufacturing.
“The Indian Tyre Industry is poised for robust growth, but staying ahead of the curve requires digital transformation, supply chain resilience, and a firm commitment to sustainability. Events like APS’25 help forge meaningful partnerships that will shape the future of the industry,” he stated.
Mr. Arun Mammen, ATMA Managing Committee Member & VCMD, MRF Ltd., emphasized the critical role of sustainable materials and circular economy models in the tyre industry.
“Sustainability is not just an option; it is an imperative for the future of mobility. The Indian tyre industry is making significant strides in adopting green manufacturing practices, increasing the use of sustainable raw materials, and enhancing fuel efficiency through advanced tyre technologies,” he remarked.
Key Sessions and Discussions
The ATMA Partners’ Summit 2025 was structured into four key sessions, each focusing on a critical aspect of sustainability, innovation, policy and industry collaboration.
1 Sustainability Through Collaboration in the Value Chain
Moderated by Ms. Rinika Grover, Head – Sustainability & CSR, Apollo Tyres Ltd.., this session focused on enhancing sustainability by fostering collaboration across the value chain. The panelists explored how recycled materials, renewable resources, and advanced product designs can drive environmental and economic benefits.
The session began with an Industry Experience Sharing Presentation by Mr. Ulhas Parlikar, Director, MRAI. The panellists included Dr. Naresh Tyagi, Chief Sustainability Officer, Aditya Birla, Mr. Satinder Pal Singh, Solutions Architect Leader, Amazon Web Services and Mr. Ulhas Parlikar, Director, MRAI
2. Manufacturing Excellence Through Sustainable Operations in RM Value Chain
Moderated by Mr Anil Makkar, Manufacturing Director, JK Tyre, this session featured a presentation by Mr. V.S. Anand, Managing Director, NOCIL Ltd., on best practices in sustainable manufacturing.
Besides Mr. V.S. Anand, the panellists included Mr. Mainackya Ghosh, Chief – National Markets, Executive Director, PCBL, Mr Roopak Karnik, Managing Director Bekaert and Mr K Jayapal, Managing Director ISRPL. Experts discussed strategies for reducing carbon footprints, optimizing production efficiency, and integrating sustainable raw materials into manufacturing.
3. Policy Frameworks for Circular Economy Adoption
Moderated by Dr. Sreekumaran Nair, Deputy General Manager – R&D, MRF Ltd., this session featured insights from global experts, including Dr. Adam McCarthy, Secretary General, ETRMA who also made an industry experience sharing presentation. The discussions centered on regulatory developments, policy enablers, and best practices for achieving circularity in the tyre industry.
The panel was joined by Mr. Amit Verma, Director, Green Transitions, Climate Change & Environment Division (GTC&E), NITI Aayog, Mr. Avinash Ramachandra, Executive Director – Corporate Affairs, KPMG and Dr. Adam McCarthy, Secretary General, European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA)
4. Circular Supply Chains: Combining Responsibility with Opportunities
With an opening by Mr. Jignesh Sharda, Head-Quality & Sustainability, CEAT Ltd., this session brought together industry veterans to discuss how circular supply chains can enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve cost-effectiveness.
The industry experience sharing presentation was made by Mr. Manish Mishra, Chief Corporate Affairs, Tata Steel Ltd. The panellists included Dr. Rinkel Jindal, Head – Global Regulatory Compliance, Apollo Tyres, Mr. Milind Ashtaputre, Senior Vice President & Head – Reinforcement Marketing, Century Enka
Innovative recycling technologies and responsible sourcing will play a pivotal role in achieving circularity in the tyre industry was the Key takeaway from the session.
Valedictory Session & Closing Remarks
Mr V K Misra, Chairman ELT Group provided an update on the ELT strategy of the industry followed by a presentation on the INROAD Project by Mr. Pravin Tripathi, Chairman, INROAD Project.
The summit concluded with a thought-provoking address by Ms. Kesang Y. Sherpa, IRS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry which was read out at the Summit.
Mr. Ravin Kurian, Chairman, ITTAC, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing that sustainability and innovation must be at the core of the tyre industry’s future roadmap.
