Ideathon 2025 with the theme Safe and Sustainable Mobility was held as a concurrent conference of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on 21st Jan 2025. Oragnised by ATMA and ITTAC, college students presented ideas on Tyre Safety, Road Safety and Sustainability at the Ideathon.
Mr. Mahmood Ahmed Addl. Secretary, MoRTH was the chief guest on the occasion. “Road safety is a national priority, and tyres play a central role in making roads safer. Sustainability and smart mobility must go hand in hand with safety. The future lies in intelligent, connected transport systems, and young innovators are key to driving this transformation”, said Mr Ahmed.
Speaking on the occasion, Guest of honour Mr. Rama Shankar Pandey, Social Defence Fellow, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment stated “Road safety is not luck; it is science—requires innovation, awareness, and behavioral change. Affordable and India-specific innovations are needed to make a real impact. Young engineers and innovators have the power to revolutionize road safety and create a lasting impact.
Ideathon 2025 had a Special Address by Dr. Adam McCarthy, Secretary General, European Tyre & Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA). “Tyre safety is crucial for road safety. Global collaboration & awareness are key to achieving safer roads.
Innovators can drive impactful solutions for the future of mobility”, said Mr McCarthy.
Instituted by Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA), India’s premier Automotive body and its technical arm Indian Tyre Technical Advisory Committee (ITTAC), Road Safety Ideathon offers a unique opportunity for college students to present ideas on the theme of Tyres & Road Safety and Sustainability in India to a galaxy of industry leaders and win accolades.
